Santa Clara Cuba

Santa Clara, capital of Villa Clara province, is a vibrant, historically and culturally intense city, famous for being a symbol of the Cuban Revolution and the final resting place of Commander Ernesto Che Guevara. Founded in 1689, Santa Clara combines its independence legacy with a youthful and artistic atmosphere, driven by the Marta Abreu Central University, which gives it a fresh and contemporary energy. Strolling through Vidal Park, the urban heart of the city, is a discovery of a mosaic of eclectic architecture, local life, live music, and traditional cafes.

One of Santa Clara's most striking sites is the Comandante Ernesto Che Guevara Memorial Sculpture Complex, home to the mausoleum, a museum of Che's personal belongings, and an imposing statue that dominates the skyline.

Guided tours are available to explore this iconic site, along with tours of the Armored Train, a historic site commemorating one of the decisive battles led by Che during the Revolution. The city also surprises with its alternative cultural offerings, such as the La Caridad Theater, the El Mejunje Cultural Center—an inclusive and bohemian space where music, art, and diversity come together—and the Constantino Pérez Carrodegua Tobacco Factory, where you can observe the art of rolling export-quality cigars.

For nature lovers, Santa Clara is an excellent base for exploring the wonders of the province: organized excursions provide access to nearby destinations such as El Nicho, a collection of waterfalls and natural pools in the heart of the Escambray Mountains; Lake Hanabanilla, ideal for boating and hiking; or the Military Train Monument in Yaguajay. You can also make connections to Villa Clara's keys, such as Cayo Santa María and Cayo Las Brujas, perfect for enjoying the Caribbean Sea, with all-inclusive accommodations and beach services for all tastes.
